Friend, Believe it or not, some of America's top Fortune 500 companies played a role in getting the Texas anti-abortion law passed by backing some of the bill's biggest supporters. At the top of the list, AT&T stands shamefully as the largest donor, giving hundreds of thousands of dollars to state politicians who sponsored and voted for the new anti-abortion law. The law, which came into effect on September 1st, when the Supreme Court failed to take action, bans abortion starting at six weeks – before most people even know they’re pregnant. In the history books, when we read about Senate Bill 8, it won't just be the radical Texas Republican politicians who are deemed responsible for this draconian anti-women law; it will also be companies like AT&T. Tell AT&T you are outraged at its support for politicians who have worked to end safe and legal abortion. Sign CREDO Mobile’s petition urging AT&T to stop bankrolling anti-abortion laws. SIGN THE PETITION If you search "gender equity and empowerment" and "AT&T", Google will return a whole host of posts on the telecom company's pages detailing all they are doing to "uplift and empower girls and women" and how gender equity is one of their "core values." But money talks, and it seems that while AT&T is playing lip service to its customers about their beliefs, they are whispering in the ears of some of Texas' most staunch anti-abortion politicians, giving them the funds they need to stay in office and pass laws like Senate Bill 8. If AT&T indeed believes in gender equity, women's rights, and the precedent set by Roe vs. Wade, why have they worked so closely and given hundreds of thousands of dollars to male politicians passing laws dictating what women can do with their bodies ? Texas Republicans have shown that they will stop at nothing to pass retrograde bills that curtail the rights of their citizens. Even before the passage of Senate Bill 8, AT&T knew about their awful agenda and continued to sponsor them. That must end now. Can you sign CREDO Mobile’s petition demanding that AT&T stop funding the Texas politicians that supported SB 8? Hold AT&T accountable now. Sign the petition now. Thanks for taking action.
