Friend, in a way that seems almost satirical, the Biden administration's response to the cruelty, racism, and violence Haitians face at the border, is to hire a contracting company to operate Haitian detention facilities where staff speak Spanish and Haitian Creole. It is not enough to condemn the actions of border officials against Haitian migrants if the administration does not actionably address the crisis at our border, the abuse Haitians face at detention centers, and the life-threatening risk they face when deported.    Haitians deserve freedom, shelter, and compassionate welcomes.
