U.S (MAKE THE ROAD NEW YORK) : Our organizer’s family featured in the NY TIMES !

decades living in the US undocumented.

Dear friend,

Our Housing Justice Lead Organizer’s family is featured in The New York Times !

Irma and Javier Hernandez, parents of our Housing Justice Lead Organizer Jennifer Hernandez returned to Mexico in 2021 after more than three decades living in the US undocumented. Through powerful photographs, the article highlights what life has been like for the Hernandez family since then.

Families like the Hernandez family shouldn’t have to make the difficult decision to leave their children and the country they have called home for years in order to visit their loved ones.

We will continue to fight for a pathway to citizenship for the 10.2 million undocumented immigrants in this country. Please take a few minutes to read Jennifer’s family story!

In solidarity,

Jose Lopez, Arlenis Morel, and Theo Oshiro, Co-Executive Directors
