Friend,

Today, Cori Bush boycotted the Israeli President’s speech to Congress. She made it clear that Congress should not be giving a platform to the President of a country that keeps violating human rights.

Cori continues to speak the truth about the apartheid enforced on the Palestinian people by the Israeli government.

Although there is clear international consensus on this issue, U.S. leaders, including many establishment Democrats, are acting like Cori’s truth-telling is worse than the human rights abuses that she’s calling out. This is in addition to the attacks Cori faced last week after speaking forcefully against Israel’s bombing of a refugee camp.

It’s shameful that because of her leadership on Palestinians’ human rights, she’s been condemned by Republicans, Democrats, reporters, and anti-Palestinian organizations instead of praised. Far too many in Washington DC, would rather support Israel’s apartheid than human dignity, respect, and equality.

It’s up to us to have Cori’s back. Can you pitch in today to support Cori Bush as she continues to speak up for Palestinian rights?

Cori won’t be silenced.

She believes it is lawmakers’ moral responsibility to stand up and fight against human rights abuses wherever they occur. Even when it’s not popular to do so, Cori has boycotted speeches to Congress by abusers of human rights -- including government leaders of India and Israel.

Cori’s consistent leadership on the human rights of all people scares those in power. That’s why this week, the House of Representatives also passed a resolution affirming unequivocal and never-ending support for Israel’s government and denying the Israeli government’s human rights violations. The resolution was in direct response to progressives naming Israel as racist -- and too many Democratic lawmakers were all too happy to vote with the GOP.

Cori was one of the few members of Congress who voted against the resolution, which again led to backlash by those who want to maintain the unjust status quo.

We need more members of Congress who are willing to speak up against racism and oppression in the U.S. and around the world. Especially when Congress is arming the oppressors, including sending nearly $4 billion of our tax dollars to Israel’s military every year without any accountability or oversight.

Please donate to stand with Cori today as she faces attacks from all sides for speaking the truth about apartheid. We need her continued leadership in Congress for Palestinian rights and for human rights around the world.
