Help us show these student protestors that we support their fight for justice.

Dear friend,

Instead of punishing the students on campus who've been committing racist, homophobic, and anti-Semitic hate crimes, Syracuse University has been punishing the students who are protesting against them. Administration officials have gone so far as to try to cut off the students’ access to food and hygiene products. In order for the students of #NotAgainSU to continue protesting, they need hot meals to sustain them.

Previously, the University moved to suspend the student protesters, and blocked them from receiving food, feminine hygiene products, and other essential supplies in an attempt to starve them into ending their protest. Because of the steadfast dedication of these students, and pressure from tens of thousands of Color Of Change members, the administration backed off of these cruel responses. But we cannot trust that the Syracuse administration will not retaliate again. They already broke their promise not to retaliate when they first suspended student protesters. We need to make sure these students have the resources they need to keep fighting for changes that will make campus safe and comfortable for Black students, Indigenous students, and Students of Color.

The student protestors of #NotAgainSU are making extreme sacrifices in order to keep fighting for justice on their campus. And we want to show these brave students that we support their efforts by providing them with the hot meals and supplies they need to keep fighting for change on campus.

A $15 contribution would provide one meal for a student who’s protesting. If we reach our goal of $2,5000, we can donate approximately 167 meals — that’s five meals per person for more than 30 student protestors !

Since November, student protestors have been trying to get the administration at Syracuse to take action against the hate crimes occurring on campus. In support of the students, more than 21,000 Color Of Change members signed a petition that brought attention to student protestors’ demands for accountability, and more than 12,000 Color Of Change members have directly emailed the school administration. The situation is so dire that the governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo, attempted to intervene, demanding accountability from Chancellor Kent Syverud. Because of these actions and the leadership of #NotAgainSU, the administration has been forced to the negotiating table with the students. If we can help these students continue their protest, we can help them win greater change !

Syracuse students are demanding changes that are long overdue, and the students need our help to get the administration to accept their demands.

Until justice is real,
