Dear friend,
In what is the tragic irony of the climate crisis, sixteen years to the day since Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast, Hurricane Ida did the exact same thing. It’s time for all of us to pull together to help our communities rebuild.
The Hip Hop Caucus Hurricane Ida Relief Fund is raising funds to directly benefit families and individuals impacted by Hurricane Ida and who are in need of urgent assistance throughout the Gulf Coast. Every dollar raised will go directly to families and people as cash for the things they most need right now, whether it be food, gas, lodging, medicine, or other emergency expenses.
Hip Hop Caucus will be matching the first $10,000 donated―please donate immediately.
The climate crisis was never some distant reality, and it grows closer to us every day. Hurricane Katrina made public to Americans the ways in which natural disasters come for Black and poor people first-- but now our people need us, and we can’t sit idly by and do nothing.
Policy is life, and we’ll keep fighting for climate relief until our communities receive its long-overdue justice and liberation from environmental racism. But right now, we need to get on the ground and provide direct relief to ensure the families devastated by this crisis have the resources they need now.
Help us today.

Friend,
We're so close to meeting our match goal of $10,000 to directly and immediately support families along the Gulf Coast in the aftermath of Hurricane Ida.
Please send in a donation today.
When Hurricane Katrina hit the Gulf Coast 16 years ago, Black people and poor people were left to die in the richest country in the world. In the aftermath of Hurricane Ida, we cannot allow our communities to be without the resources to rebuild their lives.
Humanity is playing offense and defense with the climate crisis right now. We cannot wait for climate deniers to realize it before we do something about it.
Our relief fund is giving money directly to those closest to the pain : food, medicine, lodging, gas, emergency expenses, or whatever else they might need.
Hip Hop Caucus will be matching the first $10,000 donated―please donate immediately.
We have no time to waste.
Help us today.
In solidarity,
JaRel Clay
