For two weeks we've witnessed the hardship and devastation caused by the earthquakes in Türkiye and Syria. It saddens me to share with you that yet another earthquake struck southern Türkiye on monday.
UNHCR is on the ground continuing to assess the damage. Because of this
community's immense compassion, UNHCR has been supporting efforts of
aid and recovery in Türkiye and Syria and will continue to do so as long
as we are able.
The full scale of devastation from the earthquakes that occurred two
weeks ago is still being discovered. Many people living in the
earthquake zones had lost their homes once before as a result of the
Syrian conflict — now many must rebuild completely, a process which will
take months, if not years.
Teams in the region are assessing the impact and consequences of this
new earthquake and UNHCR stands ready to provide further relief as
needed. And you can help.
