Week in Review

On Monday, leaders with VOCAL-NY's Homelessness Union and Positive Leaders Union disrupted the Human Services Budget Hearing in Albany. The message : fund Rest of State Housing, a statewide assistance program to support People Living With HIV (PLWH) secure supportive housing.  Continued homelessness and housing instability among PLWH drives poor HIV health outcomes, ongoing HIV transmission, and persistent health inequities that undermine End the Epidemic efforts. This lack of safe, stable housing is a growing crisis for the 60% of PLWH now aged 50 or older. VOCAL-NY and allies call on the Senate and Assembly to finally correct this disparity in the one-house budgets.
