Friend,
I want to shine a light on something you probably haven't read about in
the news, yet absolutely deserves your attention : the refugee emergency
in Armenia.
As a decades-long conflict in the Caucasus region escalates,
over one hundred thousand refugees have already fled and have arrived in
Armenia distressed, exhausted, hungry and apprehensive about the
future.
As you read this, UNHCR is on the ground providing immediate assistance
through protection, counseling and information. But refugees need more
support from compassionate people like you.
Will
you take a moment of your day to learn more about the refugee emergency
in Armenia, the families impacted by this humanitarian situation and
how you can provide critical support?
After experiencing many hardships on the road to Armenia and grappling
with the uncertainty of the future, refugees like Syuzanna and her
family (pictured above) arrived traumatized, exhausted and hungry.
Their only concern is to find safety and shelter before the worst of
winter arrives. Syuzanna's family and others like hers, need urgent
psychosocial support and emergency assistance, including warm clothes
and medicine.
If you can spare some time today, I hope you'll read about what your support makes possible for refugees in Armenia.
In partnership,
Suzanne Ehlers
Executive Director and CEO
USA for UNHCR.
P.S. With the support of this global community, UNHCR will continue to
make a difference in Armenia and around the world — no matter the news
cycle. Your kindness will help refugees impacted by conflict and
disaster rebuild their lives. Will you give generously today?
