AMAZON WATCH : this is how we protect the Amazon !

It's been a historic year for Indigenous land rights in Brazil. Thanks to the leadership of Indigenous peoples, the government officially recognized over two million acres of ancestral Indigenous territories !

Attempts to roll back Indigenous rights and open the rainforest to destruction are being overwhelmed by the power of the Indigenous movement and allies like you. We have the momentum. This is the moment to secure Indigenous land rights and protect the Amazon !

GIVE TODAY TO PROTECT EVEN MORE INDIGENOUS TERRITORIES!

Amazon Watch is working with Indigenous partners to achieve official recognition of several more ancestral territories – partners like the Munduruku of Brazil whose territory Sawré Muybu is now in the final stages and awaiting executive signature !

Your gift today supports Earth Defenders monitoring their lands and waters, marking territorial boundaries, and advocating for Indigenous peoples' rights in their ancestral territories. This is how we protect the Amazon.

Research shows that honoring Indigenous land rights is the best way to defend the rainforest and all of its biodiversity. Thank you for your gift in solidarity with Indigenous Earth Defenders. Onward !

For the Amazon and its defenders,

Leila Salazar-López
Executive Director.
