Friend,
Yesterday, the House of Representatives voted to fund Netanyahu’s genocide by sending $14.3 billion to Israel’s military. Instead of funding more bombs with American taxpayer dollars, our leaders should be calling for a ceasefire now, before this violence claims thousands or millions more lives. The majority of Americans are with us in supporting immediate de-escalation and a ceasefire. But we urgently need an even bigger mass movement to save lives. Tomorrow, please join Americans across the country coming to Washington, DC to demand a ceasefire. If you can’t make it to DC, please attend a solidarity rally or march near you tomorrow. In our national call for a ceasefire last weekend, Dr. Zeena Salman spoke about working with a pediatric cancer hospital in Gaza. Yesterday she shared this message from the children’s hospital : “Speak to the White House to anyone. Tell them we are a cancer hospital with sick kids they are undergoing chemo and cancer treatment and on top of us is shelling and white phosphorus bombs dropping… we need them to hear our plea. Please let it reach them. This is enough, stop, this is enough we are a hospital for kids. Many are taking shelter and none of them have any weapons or anything. They lift their hands and ask for help. These are sick cancer kids. This is a catastrophe.” Please lift up Palestinians’ voices and show the White House and Congress that they must end this catastrophe now. Come to DC’s National March on Washington or attend a solidarity march near you. Thank you. Together, we will work not only for an immediate ceasefire, but also for a just and lasting peace that upholds the human rights and dignity of all people—and ensures that no person, no child has to suffer or live in fear of violence. In solidarity, Rashida.
