Friend, it’s been a month of anguish. Since Hamas’ horrific attack, murders, and hostage-taking on October 7, we’ve seen the Israeli government cut off water, food, and fuel to two million people in Gaza. The IDF has dropped numerous bombs that heartbreakingly have killed thousands of children.
As the danger grows and the number of lives lost reaches into the tens of thousands, the sheer toll becomes overwhelming. It’s all too easy in moments like this to forget that each one of those numbers is a person, someone with dreams, community, family, and loved ones. But ignoring the suffering of war and the way it erases our humanity is what helps it drive forward.
We won’t let that happen. That’s why, next Monday, November 13, we’ll put purple and white roses up on the National Mall. This temporary memorial will acknowledge and mourn the number of people killed in the Israel-Gaza war as well as those being kept away from their families as hostages. We’ll also reaffirm our call for a ceasefire that can end the violence and help build towards a more sustainable solution that safeguards the lives of people in Israel and Palestine. It’ll be a solemn, powerful display — and just like when we lit up the U.S. Capitol with the words “End Endless War” in March — we hope to see the images from this event featured in news outlets across the globe.
Can you donate now to help us honor and acknowledge a life cut short by the recent violence in Israel and Gaza with a white rose ? You’ll have the option to be publicly recognized, or donate in honor of someone else when you make your contribution. |
The violence we’re seeing isn’t going to bring safety or liberation to anyone; it’ll only breed more hatred and trauma. People in Palestine and Israel deserve far more than the broken status quo that has let them all down so devastatingly.
Our team remains committed to ensuring pro-peace voices are heard in Washington. We are working around the clock to talk directly with members of Congress, field requests from journalists and partners, and get the word out to activists, just like you, who are eager to make a difference.
At Win Without War, we continue to work for solutions that de-escalate the conflict, center the dignity of people, and most importantly, safeguard lives. That looks like pushing the U.S. government to do everything it can to call for a ceasefire, to stop the bombs falling on Gaza, to increase the flow of humanitarian aid, and to work to reunite hostages taken by Hamas with their families.
Many of you have given generously to support this work recently, and we are eternally grateful. Today, as we take the next step in our plan to center dignity and humanity and safeguard human life — we’re asking you to join us once again.
Thank you for working for peace,
The Win Without War team.
