U.S (JUST STRATEGY) : Fight climate change by demanding the Department of Energy reject any new LNG facilities !

Friend,

With global temperatures on the rise, catastrophic weather events becoming more frequent, and sea levels threatening coastal cities worldwide, the need to transition to sustainable energy sources has never been more urgent.

Yet, greedy energy companies are working to further entrench our dependence on fossil fuels by aggressively expanding Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) infrastructure in Louisiana.

From extraction to transportation, LNG devastates local ecosystems, jeopardizes aquatic life, and threatens communities. In fact, a single LNG terminal will emit greenhouse gases at levels 20 times greater than Alaska's Willow project, showing that its detrimental environmental impact is undeniable.

Methane alone, a primary component of natural gas, is over 25 times more potent as a greenhouse gas than carbon dioxide. Even minor leaks in LNG infrastructure can release significant amounts of methane into the atmosphere, exacerbating global warming.

We can’t allow for more fossil fuel expansion as the climate crisis continues to worsen with catastrophic impact on our communities. Fight climate change by demanding the Department of Energy reject any new LNG facilities!

Beyond the environmental implications, there's a disturbing reality of environmental racism because the placement of these LNG projects is predominantly located near poor communities of color. This is a deliberate decision reflecting a deeper systemic injustice.

The International Panel on Climate Change has made it clear : to prevent the worst impacts of climate change, global temperature rise must be limited to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels. Every new LNG facility pushes us further from this goal.

As other nations invest in renewable energy and transition away from fossil fuels, the proposed expansion in Louisiana is tragically out of step with global trends. If we are to protect our planet for future generations, we must shift our focus to sustainable energy solutions.

The Department of Energy holds the power to approve or reject new LNG facilities. It's time we demand they prioritize the health of our planet over the short-term interests of fossil fuel companies.

Let the Department of Energy hear your voice, loud and clear: Reject any new LNG facilities.

Together, we will push the United States towards a sustainable, prosperous future.
