Earlier this month, we introduced you to the new website where we are tracking the Trump family corruption in the White House.
From getting rich off of taxpayer dollars to courting foreign business investments in exchange for favorable policy, we’ve highlighted the top 10 offenses in the #CorruptTrump administration.
But during the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s gotten even worse : the Trump administration is using the crisis to award contracts for much needed equipment like masks and ventilators to friends of the family and Trump’s political allies. A medical mask manufacturer was given a $9.5 million contract from FEMA after one of the company’s top officials went on Steve Bannon’s podcast to make his case. The request to contract with the company came directly from the White House.
Another contract went to Trump’s former deputy chief of staff for a cool $3 million dollars to produce respirator masks. The kicker ? The official’s brand new company had no experience making masks, and the majority of them didn’t even work. Instead of getting much-needed supplies to our healthcare workers, Trump was helping his friends get rich.
