Dear friend,
Over the last few weeks, we’ve witnessed the growth of the movement for Black lives and a powerful uprising to defund the police and invest in Black and Brown communities across the country. While we organize in the streets, we also need to elect leaders who will help us transform our communities, in the upcoming local, state, and federal elections.
New York’s primary election is on June 23rd and early voting is already underway ! Here is some information about how you can vote in the primary :
- Vote by mail : To vote by mail, you would have had to request your absentee ballot by June 16th. If you did that, the last date to mail-in your ballot is June 23rd, and it must be received by the Board of Elections by June 30th.
- Early Voting is already underway : Eligible voters can vote early in person between now and June 21st. The schedule for early voting varies by county. You can find your early voting site and the schedule at voteearlyny.org. Click on your county and fill in your information, then scroll down to find the dates and times for early voting.
- Go to your pollsite and vote in-person on Tuesday, June 23 !
We hope this is helpful information ! Please let us know if you have any questions leading up to Tuesday, June 23rd. Thank you for voting in this year’s primary elections !
In solidarity,
Paulette.
P.S. After you vote on Tuesday, June 23rd, join us in-person or online at City Hall at 5PM for a protest to defund the NYPD and invest in communities - one week before the city budget is finalized on Tuesday, June 30th. Please bring masks and a commitment to personal steps to reduce the spread of COVID-19. We will provide masks for those who need them.
