U.S (COLOR OF CHANGE PACK) : A list of what we plan to do over the next 147 days.

Voting While Black

Hey friend,

In the past 2 weeks we’ve seen all 50 U.S. states plus 18 countries participate in protests against police brutality after the murder of George Floyd. Time and time again we’ve watched people channel their outrage of the senseless killings of unarmed Black folks to the streets. And time and time again, the outrage is followed by disappointment in a racist, broken criminal system led by prosecutors that place no accountability on the killers.

At Color Of Change PAC we realized one solution to the unjust criminal system was voting out these district attorneys and other elected officials who continue to fail us.  These elected officials hold so much power yet their elections often go unnoticed.

District Attorneys have the power to decide who gets charged with crimes and who doesn't, whether police are held accountable for harming and killing people, whether cash bail keeps poor people locked up, and so much more.

Since 2016, Color Of Change PAC has worked to educate and engage hundreds of thousands of Black voters in dozens of races through digital ads, direct mail, radio ads and in-person events. Most recently, my team has been tracking voter disinformation ahead of the primaries like today's in Georgia and West Virginia--to make sure Black folks are not being discouraged from casting their ballots.

Dear friend, District Attorneys are the most powerful single actors in the criminal justice system and less than 150 days stand between us and the elections that will decide who holds these titles. If you’re in a place to give, please support Color Of Change PAC with a donation of any amount today to enable us to :
  • Send hundreds of thousands of text messages with voter registration reminders
  • Launch an online action hub to house all of our voter mobilization events so it’s easy for members, just like you, to get involved in campaigns at home
  • Run geo-targeted ads to educate Black voters on local elections and what’s at stake
  • Closely monitor and track disinformation efforts created to suppress, confuse and scare Black voters
  • Keep millions of voters updated on the candidates we endorse and how those candidates plan to fight for Black people

If we win in less than 150 days,  we can elect leaders that are accountable to Black communities and understand that we need change. Now is the time to turn our collective pain from this moment into Black political power.

Thank you for all of your support.

Until justice is real,

Arisha, Jenni, Drew, Charles, Tammi, Cristel, Alex, Scotty, Daniel, and the Color Of Change PAC team.

We need your help fighting back against attempts to discourage Black voters from casting their ballots. Please help us report and hold accountable those who are trying to keep us from voting.
