Everytown for Gun Safety and its volunteer grassroots networks Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action make up a powerful movement working to address all aspects of gun violence—a tragic part of daily life in the United States. It’s the leading cause of death for children and teens in America, and every day it kills more than 100 people and wounds hundreds more. 

 

And we have some bad news : The gun lobby’s allies are at it again. 

 

Members of the Pennsylvania State Senate worked under the cover of darkness to support the NRA’s desperate agenda. They passed extreme legislation that would allow permitless carry AND punish local governments that attempt to pass common-sense public safety laws. 

 

 

 

And it’s not just happening in Pennsylvania—these moves against gun safety are happening in more and more statehouses across the country, putting our communities at higher risk of violence. That’s why we’re working on the ground across the country to advance gun violence prevention measures in city councils, in statehouses, and in the U.S. Capitol. Because of our movement, we already know the dangerous bills passed by the Pennsylvania Senate won’t be signed into law by Gun Sense Champion Governor Tom Wolf. 

 

But we won’t stop until the NRA’s agenda is defeated and our communities are finally safe from gun violence.
