Dear friend,
Almost four years ago, the election of Donald Trump inspired the largest day of public protest in history : the Women's March.
At least 5 million people took to the streets around the globe to speak out against a president who had bragged about assaulting women and pledged to take away their rights.1
Now, almost four years later, we're marching again, and this time our very democracy is on the line. We're partnering with organizations across the gender justice movement to organize the #CountOnUs march on October 17--and this time we won't just be chanting, making signs, and marching. We'll be voting and making sure that every single undecided voter remembers how bad Trump has been for women.
Nearly four years after the disastrous Trump presidency began, we're marching to defend our democracy. Will you chip in ?
Yes, I’ll donate $5 to help finish the work we started in January 2017 and defeat Donald Trump.
Ruth Bader Ginsburg's dying wish was that she not be replaced until a new president is installed, but Trump and Mitch McConnell immediately ignored that fervent request.
Trump named the far-right-wing Amy Coney Barrett to fill RBG's seat, and McConnell has pushed to confirm her before Nov. 3. Trump has stated plainly that he wants a 6-3 conservative majority to hand him the election, no matter who wins at the voting booth.2
On top of that, it's clear that Barrett will overturn Roe v. Wade, revoke basic human rights for LGBTQ people and people of color, roll back environmental protections, and more, to take the nation backward.3
Right after RBG died, over 7,800 Ultraviolet members signed up to attend vigils in her honor. In the days that followed, they told us unequivocally that they wanted to march--to defend our rights and galvanize the vote.
On October 17, almost four years after Donald Trump was elected, that's just what we'll do. Already, 100,000 people have pledged to attend 220 marches in 46 states. The same day, we're also hosting a virtual text-banking event where we will contact 5 million women to get them to the polls.
Nearly four years after the largest protest in history, we're marching again to demand that the people, not the courts, determine the next president. Will you chip in ?
