Friend -- President Obama said that what happens this year will help determine if we'll have a decade of unfair, partisan gerrymandering.

 

The last round of elections before redistricting begins is vital and President Obama is encouraging folks to get involved because he knows what's at stake.

President Obama told voters : "Educate yourself on the candidates at every level on your ballot. They can make a profound impact on your community and our country."

 

We believe it's important to make sure our voices are heard -- and want to make sure you know all the ways you can make a difference this fall.

Our affiliate, the National Democratic Redistricting Committee, endorsed a slate of candidates running for office this year who signed a pledge to fight for fair maps. We need to help these candidates win their elections.

 

 

The NDRC put together a one-stop-shop to help you volunteer for fair map candidates. Whether you can only sign up for a phone or text bank for a few hours or commit to contacting your friends and family about these candidates, now is the time to get involved! Sign up today.

 

 

 

 

President Obama is urging folks to pay attention to down-ballot races because these races are critical to determining a fair redistricting process. In many states, the legislators we elect this year will draw maps that last a decade. And we cannot afford another 10 years of manipulated lines that help prop up extreme, unpopular agendas.
