U.S (BLACK LIVES MATTER) : NATIONAL VOTER REGISTRATION DAY.

Friend, stop what you're doing and listen up : Today is National Voter Registration Day !

For us, it's not just another day on the calendar. It is a reminder that we're rolling our sleeves up to mobilize all our friends and families to make history once again.

But don't worry – we're not just talking about Voter Registration Day, we're supplying you with the tools for success too ! Here is a voter registration portal that makes it easy to learn about voting, register to vote, and check the status of your registration – not to mention the help with finding polling locations and more.

This year, we're on a mission to show up in force. Black people have always held the key to elections, and it's time to show that people have power like never before.

As you're solidifying your registration while rallying your communities and families, we're sparking conversations about why voting is more than just a checkmark on a ballot. It's about utilizing your voice – and not just for yourself, but for every person out there.

It's simple : Black lives won't matter if we don't vote.

Black liberation is in our hands. Defunding the police. Reinvesting in our communities. Economic equality. All of these will always be our priority – join us and make it yours as well by signing our voting pledge.

Electoral politics is an important form of protest and is part of our work to change the system. Bringing an end to the state-sanctioned violence against Black people–along with taking down the systems of white supremacy–is critical and correlated to voter turnout.

More than 5 million voters across all 50 states have registered to vote on National Voter Registration Day since becoming a national holiday in 2012. We've always been ambitious, so we NEED to double that number.

If our vote didn't matter, there wouldn't be so many laws attempting to make it harder for us. There wouldn't be redistricting to manipulate heavily Black voter majority areas to manipulate heavily Black voter majority areas.

Black people continue to impact elections on all levels of government -- local, state, and national -- and this upcoming year won't be any different. As long as we keep our grassroots momentum and people-power up, we can elect folks across the entire country on all levels of government that are dedicated to Black liberation.

Ensuring that ALL Black Lives Matter starts with our work at the polls. When you're done registering and sharing the tool with others, let us know you did your part by signing our voting pledge.

In love and solidarity,

Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation.
