Friend,
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and I have been joining picket lines to support striking workers, including UAW workers on strike now across the country.
When my father joined the UAW, we got healthcare for the first time. And when Alexandria supported her family by working as a waitress and bartender, she lived without health insurance or dignity in the workplace.
The fight for workers’ rights is personal for both of us, which is why AOC and I are legislating with the urgency that working-class communities deserve.
While CEOs and billionaires are making record profits, workers are struggling to put food on the table and stay in their homes. This is an unacceptable and unjust status quo, so we’re building the power needed to change it.
As we fight for working people and marginalized communities, we’re up against billionaires and greedy corporations who seek to silence us, attack our rights, and maintain their obscene profits on the backs of workers.
This Saturday is an urgent end-of-quarter fundraising deadline after which we’ll report to the Federal Election Commission how much we’ve raised and spent, and how much cash on hand we have for the fight ahead.

Please feel free to check out yesterday’s email for more information about some of the workers’ rights legislation we’ve led in Congress. Our teams have also been training everyday people about how to unionize and how to protect people’s right to strike.
We’re committed to this struggle alongside you and working-class people everywhere.
In solidarity,
Rashida.
