U.S (NATIVE ORGANIZERS ALLIANCE) : Get Out the NATIVE VOTE !

Friend,

Today is National Voter Registration Day, and we’re celebrating the power of Native people voting. The Native vote determines election outcomes in 7 states responsible for 77 electoral votes in presidential elections.

But we’re not just building Native strength and representation in presidential elections. In 2022, nearly 80 Native candidates -- about half of whom are women -- won their races up and down the ballot, including the first Alaska Native woman being elected to Congress.

Year after year, Indigenous sovereignty is on the ballot. And one of the best ways that we can show up for each other, address long standing issues impacting our communities, and -- as we say in Indian Country -- “be good relatives,” is by voting.

Our Natives Vote campaign makes sure our communities are registered to vote. We provide the information needed, state by state, to overcome voter suppression and make our voices heard. Our organizers across the country utilized the mocassin path to turn out not just their vote, but family, friends, and others in their community to maximize our power at the polls on Election Day.

Earlier this month, we were in Washington DC with a delegation of Native Vote activists from across the country, advocating for the Native American Voting Rights Act (NAVRA), and one thing we heard from our allies was that the Native Power t-shirts and posters we provided to activists last year were key in creating visibility to register and turnout the Native vote leading up to Election Day.

Today is National Voter Registration Day. Will you pitch in $5 today to power our Natives Vote campaign and provide activists on the ground with the resources they need to turnout the Native vote?

DONATE NOW

Our work to get out the Native vote is year-round and ongoing. Whether it’s tapping into the potential of the Native community to drive turnout in local and federal elections or fighting for legislation like the Native American Voting Rights Act -- this is how we fight for our rights, our sovereignty, and the promise of a multi-racial democracy.

Native people in the U.S. face unique barriers to voting, which is why we're pushing for more voter registration on reservations and at health clinics serving Indigenous peoples.

As we work to grow Native political power, we are also fighting back against a wave of right-wing legislation that is meant to suppress our vote like redistricting, voter dilution, and voter intimidation.

That’s why we need even more resources this year to put more moccasins on the ground in key states to register voters and ensure access to the ballot box. And your donations aren’t just powering volunteers. We recognize the need to be able to pay our Natives Vote election workers because of the sustained multi-generational joblessness in Tribal communities.

We're up against centuries of racist colonization, but with your support, we can make the transformative changes our communities deserve.

Make a donation today to Native Organizers Alliance to power our Natives Vote campaign and register and turnout the Native vote across the country.

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your secure donation will go through immediately :

We will continue winning and building our power, including by ensuring that every Native person has access to the polls.

Ahéhee' (thank you in Navajo) for supporting our work today.
