Friend,
You might think of Starbucks as the trendy coffee chain that forced out your favorite local coffee shop 20 years ago. Or you might think of Starbucks as a corporation that has committed hundreds of unfair labor practices over the past two years to try to quash its staff labor union. But what you might not think about Starbucks is that they are one of the largest sellers of chocolate products in America. But a lot of that chocolate comes from cocoa plantations in West Africa, harvested with child labor and planted atop razed tropical forests. As a giant distributor of chocolate, Starbucks could use its buying power to end the cruelty of these cocoa farms, much as it played a crucial role in the fair trade coffee movement. But without hearing from a critical mass of customers, they will continue to pursue the path of least resistance. Send a message to Starbucks: Come clean on cocoa! Thanks,
