U.S : Join in on #SalesforceOhana to tell Marc BENIOFF to #CancelTheContract

Dear friend,

Salesforce is still profiting off of the lives of young immigrant children and their families who are being separated at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Salesforce has yet to #CancelTheContract with U.S. Customs and Border Patrol (CBP). Now, as the company prepares for its annual client conference Dreamforce, people are taking a bold stance against Salesforce. Just last week, a San Francisco coffee company turned down a $40,000 contract to serve drinks at the conference in protest of Salesforce’s greedy contract with CBP.1 Also, in June, 650 Salesforce employees pushed the company to review its contract with CBP.2 Just recently, a Texas-based immigrant rights organization RAICES turned down $250,000 donation from Salesforce. With the ongoing public pressure building against tech companies like Microsoft to cut its ties with ICE -- Salesforce cannot ignore the outcry.

We must continue to amplify the pressure on Salesforce. Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff continues to hide behind a “progressive platform” in which he boasts about diversity and equity. In a tweet, CEO Marc Benioff completely denied any relationship with CBP : “ ...Salesforce doesn't work with CBP regarding separation of families at the border.” Salesforce even misuses significant cultural terms for its company staff as “Ohana” (meaning family) and says the values of the company represents “Kuleana” (meaning personal responsibility) which are terms rooted in Native Hawaiian cultural languages. How can a company that claims to care so deeply about family, community, and accountability refuse to relinquish all ties from one of the main government agencies responsible for causing harm and damage to migrant families ? If we show Salesforce executives that we’re not letting up on this fight, we can get them to take our demands seriously.

Until justice is real,
