Friend, what’s done in the dark will always come to light.
And now, after one year, a thousand depositions, and hundreds of thousands of documents gathered, the January 6 commission’s findings are finally coming to light.
Let’s keep it 100. We weren’t surprised by much brought forth in the hearing. This is the AmeriKKKa we've known for decades.
The January 6 insurrection was the symptom, but it is the disease of white supremacy that continues to fuel the hatred, division, and partisanship that the insurrection represented.
We know that the insurrectionists weren’t just threatening members of Congress or upset about an election, they were waging war on democracy itself. We also know that the same white supremacist politicians that incited the insurrection attack on our capital have been attacking our sacred right to vote in states across the country.
But just because we’re not surprised, doesn’t mean we’re not furious. Some politicians want to silence us and take our rights away, which is why Hip Hop Caucus will never stop raising our voices against injustice—and when they try us, we stay ready.
For Future Generations,
Rev. Yearwood
