Friend,    It has been 75 years since the Nakba (“catastrophe”) in May, 1948, when militias destroyed hundreds of villages in a violent ethnic cleansing of nearly 800,000 Palestinians. Two-thirds of the Palestinian population was massacred or forcefully removed. For 75 years since then, the Palestinian people have been denied the right to return, and they remain without a state today. Even now, the Israeli government continues to violate international law, systematically displacing, imprisoning, and killing Palestinians, denying them freedom and basic needs such as water and electricity. Now, on the 75th commemoration of the Nakba, is the time to speak out for Palestinian liberation. Please join us in support of Rep. Rashida Tlaib’s newly re-introduced resolution in Congress to recognize the Nakba and support Palestinian rights. Co-Sponsor the Resolution The U.S. sends billions of dollars in military aid to Israel each year, supporting this apartheid system. Israeli propaganda denies the Nakba ever happened, while far-right Israeli officials even go so far as to call for “another Nakba.” We must ensure that the truth gets out by educating U.S. lawmakers and citizens about the ongoing Palestinian genocide. Rep. Tlaib’s resolution calls on the United States to continue to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, providing services to millions of displaced Palestinian refugees. It also urges the U.S. to support the rights of Palestinian refugees, as envisioned in the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
