Are You Eligible for the NYC Bail Settlement ? A settlement has been reached in a class action lawsuit
that claims the City of New York violated the law when it delayed
releasing people after their bail was paid. This means that anyone who
was released on bail (whether cash bail, bail bond, partially secured
bond, or any form of payment the New York Department of Corrections
accepts for payment of bail) from Rikers or any NYC jail between October
4, 2014 and October 21, 2022 may be entitled to $3,500 or more. In
order to receive payment, eligible individuals must submit a simple
claim before June 6, 2023. Follow this link to find out your eligibility and start the claim process online. |
