Friend,    Every day that oil which flows through the Line 5 pipeline is a catastrophe risk to the entire Great Lakes region. The aging, deteriorating pipeline trespasses on tribal sovereign lands. And a spill could poison 48 million people’s drinking water, including in my home state of Michigan. Enbridge, the fossil fuel corporation that owns the pipeline, is operating it illegally—in defiance of a shutdown order from Michigan’s Governor. The corporation has already caused one of the worst inland oil spills in U.S. history, poisoning the water in Michigan’s Kalamazoo River.
