Tell President Biden & the Senate: Reject any attempt to extend Trump's Title 42 refugee ban.   SIGN THE  PETITION!   When the pandemic first hit, Donald Trump ignored and downplayed it as much as possible, except in one case : He enthusiastically invoked “Title 42,” which allowed him to severely restrict immigration from migrants who come to the border seeking safety.   Now, mask mandates are gone, vaccine mandates are gone, and Donald Trump is gone. But Title 42 is still here. Experts say that in the 2 years it was in effect, more than 10,000 people were kidnapped, raped or killed after being turned back at the border. Now, as President Biden prepares to end this measure, Republicans and even some Democrats are pushing legislation to make it permanent.       Send a clear message to President Biden and the Senate: Reject any attempt to extend Title 42!       To be clear, public health experts have long argued against the use of Title 42 as a public health measure. From its inception, Title 42 has been a deeply racist tool to restrict the rights of Black, brown, and Indigenous asylum seekers. This was made abundantly clear when DHS ordered border agents to ignore the existing public health order when processing immigrants from Europe.   There was never a public health reason for Title 42―it was purely racist opportunism from a racist man who never should have sat in the oval office.       Tell President Biden and the Senate: End Title 42 now!       Thanks,         Team Progress America.
