U.S : SEGREGATION is ALIVE and WELL.

 

 

 

Friend,     We fought for integration in the 60s, because we knew then—as we know now—that separate is never equal. Now we’re asking Congress : do your job.   Schools are even more segregated by race and class today than they were before the civil rights movement. Putting an end to exclusionary zoning can help, and Congress must take action now.       Tell Congress: Modern-day segregation is unacceptable.       We have the research. We know that the best way to integrate schools is to make sure that children of all class backgrounds are being educated together. Thanks to red lining, structural racism, and centuries of political violence against Black communities, it’s also the only way to truly achieve equality. We need diverse neighborhoods.
