Republicans have a problem : Their toxic brand of white nationalist, grievance-driven politics has alienated a majority of American voters. It caused them to lose the White House, House of Representatives, and Senate all in just two years.

But rather than try to appeal to more voters, GOP politicians would ratherrestrict who votes. That's why state lawmakers (many of whom were elected through gerrymandering !) are scrambling to pass new voter suppression measures, including efforts to all but ban mail-in voting and eliminate Souls to the Polls events in Black communities.
