U.S (VOCAL NEW YORK) : Protect our Communities; Demand investments and no rollbacks to bail reform.

There is still no state budget -- but we are not done fighting !

Gov. Kathy Hochul is hell-bent on making sure that the state budget includes provisions to put more people in jail while providing no immediate relief to those New Yorkers experiencing homelessness or responding to the preventable overdose crisis.

We need to STOP Gov. Kathy Hochul from undermining safety and freedom in our state.

Three things you can do right now :

Call Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie 518-455-3791 and tell him to hold the line against Hochul's efforts to rollback bail reform and to invest in our communities instead.

Background: Governor Hochul is holding up the New York State Budget in a cynical and politically motivated attempt to dismantle Bail Reform laws…AGAIN. The Bail Reform Law was passed in 2019 and every year, it has been slowly dismantled in order to advance political agendas, scare New Yorkers and hold up a system based on plea deals, coercion and racism.

These efforts have nothing to do with facts and everything to do with elections. And now the Governor is going after Discovery reforms as well.

Many members of the New York State Assembly and the Senate have dug in their heels, stood beside us and said NO MORE ROLL-BACKS. But they need to hear from you so they do not blink ! Please share with all your networks and take action now !
